Default How's OH fishing?

My wife's nephew moved here not too long ago and loves to fish. I am finally able to take him out this coming Sunday. He lives next to OH lake on Drakes Creek but I haven't fished the lake in a long while. So far he has only caught one fish a small smallie from off the bank but we'll be in my boat.

Looks like water is down in the mid-50's according to Corps site. Would I be better off taking him to GSP area and fishing now? Is it already that time?

Thanks.

Good, I can't wait to have it up that way on the Obey and Dale. Some days I just get that lazy feeling and don't want to drag a boat around on the trailer so it's a nice alternative. Putting a humminbird on it soon then it's about ready to go anywhere.

Roxana crawling yet? Hope your family is doing well.

My game plan unless something interesting pops up is to get a few dozen chubs from the creek by my house, drift the flats at GSP, bluff at GSP and cast some flukes or grubs as a back up.

Better be ready when I get back from Texas. With the GSP restricted, I will be "taking my talents" to DH this winter.

Fished the Obey yesterday. Caught a lot of stockers, all three species. My best fish was a 14" brookie. We fished from the dam to Moody's. Nice relaxing/freezing float. We had gone up there to fish for smallies on Dale Hollow, but the wind was more than I wanted to fight given the cold temps. All fish came on in-line spinners, with the best retrieve being one that kept the bait bulging the surface...most fish simply loaded on, but a few tried to knock the paint off my white rooster tail. Next time I hit the Obey, I'll probably float a lot further.

I kind of used this trip to do some recon for next year...Travis, I think what we've talked about will be a definite possibility
