How's OH fishing?
My wife's nephew moved here not too long ago and loves to fish. I am finally able to take him out this coming Sunday. He lives next to OH lake on Drakes Creek but I haven't fished the lake in a long while. So far he has only caught one fish a small smallie from off the bank but we'll be in my boat.
Looks like water is down in the mid-50's according to Corps site. Would I be better off taking him to GSP area and fishing now? Is it already that time? Thanks. |
Not sure about OH but how's your new ride treating you?

Roxana crawling yet? Hope your family is doing well. |
My game plan unless something interesting pops up is to get a few dozen chubs from the creek by my house, drift the flats at GSP, bluff at GSP and cast some flukes or grubs as a back up.

She's doing well, we should hook up in the spring on Dale..

Fished the Obey yesterday. Caught a lot of stockers, all three species. My best fish was a 14" brookie. We fished from the dam to Moody's. Nice relaxing/freezing float. We had gone up there to fish for smallies on Dale Hollow, but the wind was more than I wanted to fight given the cold temps. All fish came on in-line spinners, with the best retrieve being one that kept the bait bulging the surface...most fish simply loaded on, but a few tried to knock the paint off my white rooster tail. Next time I hit the Obey, I'll probably float a lot further. I kind of used this trip to do some recon for next year...Travis, I think what we've talked about will be a definite possibility :) Chris Bryant |
