Default Gsp 2/17

Made it out this afternoon with a buddy for his first trip striper fishing. Had the place to ourselves and the fishing was on fire. Hooked up on 5 consecutive casts at one point. He hooked into several with his best at 10lbs....pretty sure he's caught the bug and wants to go back for more. I had a great day, too. I caught a 34 lber (my personal best) and another two over 15 lbs. Couldn't buy a skippie today so everything came on artificials. Too windy tomorrow and have to work this weekend so hope to get out first of next week.

Alex

That fish is huge!

You guys are making me feel like a wimp for only venturing out to take out the trash.

I'm jealous!
Babysitting while the wife works and no school this week, plus my boat is one big tub of ice.

Looking at my "fishing calendar", yesterday was a four star day.....today is a FIVE STAR day!

Aquaholic said he was going fishing so I'll get a report from him later and post his results.

Awesome day of fishing! That nasty weather really brings them out. I'm gonna keep an eye on the weather and might tough it out either Saturday or Sunday morning.

Very nice fish sir, it's killing me that I can't get out to fish with the office closed. If you get out this weekend I might try and join you Jimmy

Great fish Alex! Glad you took your buddy for the experience. That's just as fun seeing a buddy catch his first striper. How was the boat ramp? Did you put in at Flippers?

Not gonna lie...I was a little worried that we were going to be spending the night at the steam plant after we launched. More ice under the slush than I anticipated. I had a small camping shovel in the boat and cleared the rest of the ramp before we took off. It was in direct sunlight the rest of the afternoon so it was nice and dry when we trailered up.
