Smile Remember When .. <'TK><

For about as long The Sporting Mag's. such as Sports Afield, Argosy, Field and Stream in the Pre and Post war era during the 40's, 50's and 60's . They had Classified's in Black and White in the back of the Mag. Do you remember the little Neptune and the Neptune Mighty Mite.

Well here are a few before and after pic's of a resent restoration I just completed for a customer ... This is a 1941, 1.5 HP ... It was missing a few parts as you will see but I located them and got the little motor to run (this was before the Paint and polishing ... I totally dismantled it for the restoration ... It will spend the rest of it's life hanging on a wall.... <'TK><

Before ... And After

Great work TK! I am old enough to remember those mags.....and ads for the motor. Thats all we had back then...and couldn't wait to get my hands on them.....read cover to cover. I got them second hand from the doctor my mom worked for after he was through reading them.

Regards

Reminds me of the old British Seagull motors that a lot of sailboats used to use. Very simple looking. Nice work TK!

Very nice Job, Pretty motor. Crazy to think that thing was built 42 years before I was born.

WOW! Awesome job TK. I knew that we'd find something useful for you to do someday.....I just didn't realize it was going to take this long!!

Beautiful looking piece of antiquity....it belongs on a pedestal somewhere safe and clean and out of the elements.

I agree. Awesome job. I'll bet it didn't look that good when new.

Merv, be careful about putting beautiful antiques on a pedestal and not using them. You and I could find ourselves displayed on a shelf.
