Mike, it's 50 degrees. It was 66 at the barrier today, 54 outside of Bull creek cove (Flipper's cove). Inside the cove it was 50.

Juice, I got there too late for the striper bite but from what I heard and saw, no stripers caught. Had a few bust on top but nobody hooked up.
I had some Floridians out this morning so we concentrated on bluegill and tilapia. They kept 20 tilapia and 40 bluegills that were keeper sized. Probably threw back another 25 too small, both tilapia and bluegills. Our biggest tilapia was 1.88 lbs.
We had two pretty nice shellcrackers and one small catfish.
All our fish were caught on nightcrawlers.

I was there this morning at 4:15. Managed 1 good sized sauger, but only 1 tiny striper. Caught several skipjacks and a few white & yellow bass. Got to meet Merv and Dakota. As Merv said, stripers hit the top only a few times.

Woody, it was a pleasure talking to you yesterday at Walker's. I caught a lot of bream and 4 or 5 Tilapia. Caught my first one in the spine. Next one about 1.5 lbs. Man those things are ugly.
Just before I left I thought I was hung (?). I had hooked a large Talipia in the spine and ultimately the hook pulled out. I think it would have gone about 14 lbs.

Looks like TWRA are looking at the Tilapia as a Game Fish now, as a buddy of mine just received the Tennessee State Record award. The fish came from Old Hickory.

Woody, I just got my first smart phone and did not want to take a chance on dropping it in the lake while taking pictures.
Merv will vouch for my honesty. I could see the scales on the one that got off so no doubt about the weight.
I was using 4 lb. line. Those fish don't fiight very hard. I just kneeled down and picked them up.
Please don't compare my skill with Merv's. He needs 80 lb braid to land a Crappie.
