Tilapia
Ventured out in the chilly rain today. Brought home 34 tilapia, lost 8 as I was bringing them in.
Finally left when my fingers got so stiff I couldn't bait the hook.

Nice catch. What was water temp? Fifty eight degrees is supposed to be the temp they start dying off. Those fish will taste much different than what one would get in store or restaurant. I caught.....and ate....those while visiting Kenya. Totally different than farm raised tilapia. Are those things pretty much all over the lake now?

I don't know ANYTHING about them alpha. I just followed tacklemake to his favorite hole. He caught about thirty or more, got bored or tired (he'd been there since 5 AM) and left.
I stayed and the bite picked up considerably around 10:00. My frozen hands and lack of bait finally convinced me to go home around 1:30 PM.
Water temps on OH was 50 degrees. Don't know why they aren't dying off or headed to the steam plant. The water coming down the channel at GSP was 66 when I was there Friday.

Most people just throw the ribs away when they filet a fish. How do you cook them?

You guys are tough. Me and the cold just don't get along anymore. Well I guess they are adapting to the cold or something......anyway good mess of fish and good eating.

Ha Ha.
Actually, yesterday I was saying I was taking over the SAMBOLIE tradition of hexing all the fishing, except I was the only one being hexed. I stood right beside Woody, while he caught 5 or 7 fish and I caught none. Throwing to the same places, using his bait, etc. I think he has an unfair advantage with his built in twitch!
AFTER he left, I started catching my fish. It's amazing how a little rotenone ( http://www.noble.org/ag/wildlife/rotenone/) spread out on the water will improve the catch rate!

Nice haul! I couldn't find a single one at the steam plant on Saturday.

Went out again today, same place. Fought the wind for a coupla hours. Only landed ten today, lost 7 due to line breakage or fish just coming unhooked on the way in.
Threw everything back today. Packed up 4 lbs of filets last night, that'll last for awhile.

Can you catch those on Trout Magnets or do you need live bait? Waxworms?
