Default Light line rod

Broke down tonight, after breaking two field and stream inferno rods and purchased a Fenwick eagle 7' medium light rod to fish my TM and CM's on. I'm going to try it out this weekend, hope I like it and it works well.

I like the 6.5 ft Fenwick Eagle GT in Light power for 1/16 oz inline spinners. It is much faster than most other off the shelf light powered rods in that price range. I also have it in 7 ft and it is slightly slower but still a decent rod.

They had that one also, thought it felt a bit flimsy for me. I'm looking forward to trying it sunday. Trying to decide if I want to fish priest of a river by the house.

I have some extra 12 lb mono if you need it for the new rod.
Also some 30 lb braid.

Please, I have like 900 yards of 15lb and two spools of 65 and one of 30! Step yo game up! I am really thinking about putting 4lb on it for normal use, not yet to the Alpha standards but trying to get close.

If you're not throwing 80lb braid I hear you'll break off way to often and have to re-tie more due to nicks.

Let me know how you like the Fenwick, I have 2 of the FieldandStream TecLites and have caught a lot of fish with them. I was checking out the Fenwicks the other day though now that I have got my Sedona reel.

Will do, I'm going to hit priest Sunday after work. Should be able to get at least 2.5 hours on the water. Anyone have any idea where to start for crappie. I have some brush in that 15' range I was thinking about.

What sized sedona do you have? I use a 1000FD for TM's on an 8'6" BPS float and fly rod. I am looking to get the Leland's Lures trinity rod soon.

I have got the 1000fd on a 6 1/2' light Rod with 4lb flouro. Great setup for me and the kids. That trinity Rod will make an awesome setup for you, I use my setup for trout and panfish and only use the twitch method.

Trout, I really liked the Rod. The only thing is wish it had was the micro guides. It's got good power but enough give that it handles the light line well.

Where did you buy it at? I didn't even know micros were an option for the Fenwicks, that should increase casting distance...
