Default Mongomery Bell Advice

Anybody ever fish Montgomery Bell? We are headed there for a long weekend in a few weeks and I really don't know what to expect. Is it stocked with crappie by the TWRA?

It's tough. We went two winters ago, and it was partially frozen, and then again in early spring. We saw some big bass moving up, but couldn't entice them with anything.

Went about a year ago. Same results. Got one small bass on a crappie magnet. Found lots of crappie bobbers on the lake, not many fish though.

If there are crappie in those lakes TWRA did not stock them. As Jeremy said it can be tough there.

I fished there early summer from a canoe. Caught about 20 bass. Only 2 keepers. Took live bait though. It can be a very tough lake to fish but there are some big bass there. This is a 5 lbs largemouth caught in Wood Haven
