Default Striper/Hybrid Fishing with my Daughter and Son-in-Law on Tims Ford

On Saturday morning, I took my daughter and son-in-law fishing at Tims Ford. We trolled using the Great Lakes setup (trolling with planer boards). We caught a total of 20 fish with the following counts: 14 Hybrids, 5 Stripers, 1 Smallmouth. A total of eight rods were trolled, two on down riggers, the other six trolled to the side. The largest fish taken was 12 pounds.

A YouTube video of the trip was created using the GoPro:

Near the end of the video, we went through a school of Hybrids and got six hookups. All six fish were boated. What a great way to complete a wonderful morning at the lake.

The most dangerous place to be in the boat is between Jenny (my daughter) and a rod with a fish on it. I would yell "fish on", turn the camera on, then get out of the way! Greg learned to be more aggressive as time went by.

If you watch closely, about one third of the way through the video, Greg and Jenny are both fighting fish. The scene starts when Greg's fish is ready to land. In the background you can see Jenny to continue to fight her fish. When she finally lands it, it is a 12 pound Rockfish.

If you watch the last series of scenes (before the boat driving clips) we had just landed our 14th fish. We went through a school of hybrids and hooked four at once. That is when I held up four fingers. Right after that, the other two side rods connected so we had six fish on at one time. Neither down rigger got hit for some reason. It shouldn't be a depth issue because when you pass over a school of feeding hybrids, they are all over the water column. Once all the fish were boated, we decided it was time to call it a day.

It was a great way to spend a Saturday morning!

Awesome video, Aero! Talk about a Chinese fire drill around that boat...

Lol....like little kids!
"Now you watch the rods on this side of the boat, and your watch the rods on that side of the boat, and dont cross the imaginary line running down the middle of the boat"
Thats what me and my brother always heard from dad growing up trolling for walleyes. Lol

Aero, I am impressed with the fish. I am just as impressed with your daughter. She not only knows how to reel them in, she knows how to hold a fish without breaking its' jaw.
You taught her well.

My sentiments exactly, SAMBOLIE. I hate to have readers see me agree with you on ANYTHING, but that girl can flat out fish!
