Default For you Hunters out there...Aporkalypse is coming!

For any of you guys that are into hunting, Pigman the Series is going to be on Sunday for his Aporkalypse Episode. If you havent seen any of his Aporkalypse shows in the past, they are awesome. Hunting pigs with Uncle Ted out of helicopters with automatic rifles and such, awesome awesome stuff!
Anyways, if you want to watch a kick-a$$ hunting show, check out Pigman The Series. Its on the Sportsmans Channel.

I have mixed feelings about the mass slaughter of hogs, then leaving them to rot. I understand they are a menace, and I am well aware of the destruction they leave in their wake. However, shooting hogs from a helicopter with an M-16 just ain't sporting.

Hunters/shooters are under enough scrutiny as it is. Broadcasting what amounts to slob hunting over the airwaves only gives our opponents more fodder.

Thanks for the heads up. I've seen a few videos of hug hunting from a chopper, that's some neat stuff.

I agree. This isn't sport. That's like shooting a duck sitting in water. Legal? Sure. Sportsmanlike? No.

I've heard of guys stalking hogs and shooting them. Now that's sport. Some choose to eat them, BACON!!!, and some want to leave them there. I'm ok with either as feral hogs are becoming an issue in some parts of the country but I just can't consider mowing them down from a helicopter as sporting.

you guys make valid points! Its not a sporting way to hunt, not by any stretch of the imagination.
That is 1 thing that the Pigman usually states before this kind of program....
"this is not a fair chase segment...this is not a hunting show, this is an eradication show...ect" he admits its not sporting, but when he does the Aporkalypose show, its not suppose to be, he has built an empire trying to eradicate the hogs of texas by filming his hunts (the majority of them with normal hunting practices, some dogs involved) and he has found a niche with heli-hunts. they do retrieve all the hogs and say that the majority of them are donated....how many, i dont know, what happens to the rest, i dont know.
Its a normal hunting show, but once a year he does an all out, guns blazing, large group eradication hunt. I think the first show a few years ago, him and uncle ted, between the 2 of them shot over 400 hogs in 2 days....for 2 guys to do that, i would say some extreme measures need to be taken...
but thats just my opinion, and it is pretty awesome to watch.
if anybody wants to see episodes from the past few years, they are on you tube.

Agreed 100%

I am all about sporting hunts. But when something is that out of control and ruining land and such. Give me an M-16, a copter, and I will be the first to tell you I am about to have one heck of a good time! And donate all meat. Letting game rot is one thing I absolutely don't believe in, I don't care about others who do it, and love to watch predator hunting. But I killed a coyote with my bow 4 years ago. After I had it in my hands, I just tossed it in the cornfield. My girlfriend(wife now) asked me why I killed it if we weren't going to eat it. I didn't have a valid answer. Since then I have called in dozens of coyotes while deer hunting. I then shoot them with the camera!

Kill every hog you see and let it rot!

First you really don't want to eat the meat because of the possibility of brucellosis, which is nasty stuff.

Second, they can devastate farmland in manner of days.

Third, each sow can have up to 8-16 piglets per litter and can breed back up to 3 times a year. That's a ton of pigs.

Same for yotes. They kill livestock and other game fast as anything.

Sporting, no. Ethical? Depends on which side you're on. Farmers side, or hogs side.

I see nothing wrong with shooting the from the helicopter. They are a nuisance and can do major harm. It's not hunting it's eradication, Sign me up. You give me a belt fed machine gun and hogs to shoot from a chopper and I could die a happy man!

I think thier hunts start at just over 2k for an hour if i remember right...but that does include unlimited ammo. I guess its not horribly priced for being up in a helicopter on private land with unlimted ammo. Ofcourse its an additional fee to have them video the hunt but why would you not pay the extra for that! Lol.
Once in a lifetime thing there!

I'm on the farmers side and I love bacon. You all make good points. Kill the hogs, send me the bacon.
