Default Trout magnet first timer

Well I got everything in earlier this week. A couple 6'6 sore lip series rods and sedona reels, trinity series with a symetre reel, all with TM 2# line. I got several of the popular colors that was in a previous thread on here....with a few extras that weren't. Today will be a good day to be on the caney. I will be wading around the happy hollow area. If anyone sees a guy wearing redington waders and a straw hat stop and say hey.

Well today wasn't all that great. I caught 2 on chart. head white body, 1 12-14" the other was just a little guy. My buddy caught 2 on the fly, I'm not sure what he was using. There was a lot of traffic out there today with the people. I really didn't see as many trout swimming in the water today like I did the last time I fished the caney which was the 4th. It was better than coming up with a big 0..we will get them next time.

Me and my buddy really need a better wading spot that is safe and with less traffic.

It was tough yesterday. I've never seen the rental traffic that bad. My father in law and I floated from the dam to Happy in our yaks. We probably caught 20 apiece but we usually catch about double that in that stretch. We usually catch a few slot fish too but I don't think we had any over 14".

Glad you caught a few though. It was a zoo out there.

Try the steps at Buffalo Valley, very safe area.

Yesterday was sorta bad. Lots of traffic of kayaks and canoes and folks who have never been in one.
I had sworn to never go to the Caney in good weather on a Saturday but it had been so long since being there I just had to go and suffer.
Caught a lot of trout, about half rainbows and other half Browns. Was using white T M on a chartreuse jig head.Things slowed down when I started trying some new combinations which did not have the same results.
However,still enjoyed my day.

This morning I was fishing within 20-50 feet from the dam. On a pink crosslock I had a orange and chartreuse crappie magnet on 4# line.

On the same crappie magnet, I caught crappie, ky bass, skipjack, brownies, one rainbow and two saugers in an hour. In the next two hours, we could not buy a strike from anything on any lure in the box
