Default Rainy Lake

Got back sunday before last. Had another awesome trip. Smallmouth, walleyer and northern pike, and we caught a ton of all of them. More Walleye than you could even begin to count, and caught everything casting, I DON'T troll.

Water was very high. This is my brother's truck on the road into LaBelles birch point camp. We put in there and run about 17 miles by boat to an island to camp on.

Rainy Lake is huge (over 1500 islands) and it is beautiful place.

This is my canyon cooler, we had all the ice we wanted and it held ice for 8 days.

My dad is 81 and he caught the most fish out of all of us. This is the biggest pike he has ever caught, we do not ever fish for pike but always catch some.

The smallmouth we caught averaged 3.75 lbs each. These are what we go for.

Rainy lake is full of walleye. you can only keep 1 per person a day, and the one has to be either between 13 to 17 inches or over 27". We had no trouble catching plenty of legal fish so we got to eat walleye (and the CHEEK MEAT) every day. It was awesome.

Also we saw and watched eagles all day every day we were there.

Rainy lake is a special place. Congrats on a good trip. Haven't fished the lake, but have fished the river and Lake of the Woods several times.

Great pic and i bet the trip was a blast.

That driving in the water photo reminded me of a trip to seminole. They had 15" of rain leading up to our arrival and the roads were all flooded going into our campground. It looked like the boat was just floating along behind me.
