Default Caney fork question

How long would it take to float from the dam to Betty island under no generation?

Travis C can answer that. I have never timed it....fishing most of the way. So it will vary depending how much you pull over to fish. I know it is always over too quick for me though. A very pleasant way to fish.

It's 8.6 miles to Betty's from dam. Time will vary greatly on how much you fish and how much you paddle.

A lot of people fish from Dam to Happy in a half day (daylight to lunch time) but some guides cover that same stretch fishing thorough with a shore lunch daylight to dark. Betty's is roughly another 4 miles past that or pretty much like covering that distance again.

Floating it fishing here or there your looking at putting in at daylight and probably being off the water around 3-4 maybe. Fishing it thoroughly its daylight to dark and even then you'll have to rush some.

Happy's roughly 5 miles from the Dam and 1 gen of water gets there in about 2hrs.

Betty's roughly 9 miles from the Dam and 1 gen of water gets there in about 3.5 hrs.

All in how much time you want to spend. I have paddled the whole river Dam to Carthage ramp on the Cumberland in a day of non-stop paddling.

You should catch a bunch of trout...and in deeper holes you could get some crappie. See Pinwheeled's post about floating the Caney. You should have great time if you can dodge all the canoes.
