Default My new Ride

I started a thread last week asking for a little guidance on purchasing my first kayak. You guys had plenty of great input and with all of that in mind, I went up to Hook1 first thing Saturday morning ready to buy a boat.

Everything I've heard about Hook1 was spot on. I dealt mainly with Chris and another younger guy who's name I can't remember. They were both very helpful and patient with all of my questions. I think I spent a total of three hours or so up there between asking questions, testing boats, and getting everything set up. Not once did I feel rushed or pressured to buy a particular boat. I ended up deciding between a Ride135, Ride115x, or a Native Slayer 12. They were all really nice but I went home with the 115x with the high seat option. For what I do, I think it will be a great fit.

I was able to get the boat all set up Saturday and take it for a quick paddle on Priest. Today, I spent about 10 hours in the seat on the Caney. Fishing was a bit slow and the crowds were crazy but the boat did great. I can't wait to get out and fish some of the kayak tournaments coming up soon. Thanks again for all of the input.

I paddled that exact yak at hook1 on Saturday evening. Great boat. Tracked good and was extremely stable. Dusk camo is awesome.

I tested a Native Slayer, Lure, and Slayer Propel. Ended up picking up a Jackson Cuda 12 though.

Congratulations, looking forward to seeing you on the water. The guys at Hook 1 are top notch. I had met Chris and worked with him about a year or two before I had met Chad. Chad is currently up in Canada filming for one of his shows. The younger guy you may have met might have been Ryan.

There are several tournaments this weekend
July 12th (River Bassin Frankfort, Ky and Chattanooga Bass Yakkers Armstrong Ferry Hiwassee)

July 19th is Tennessee Kayak Anglers on Old Hickory Shutes Branch

July 22nd is Kayak Bass Fishing TN Smith Springs on Percy Priest

July 26th Chattanooga Bass Yakkers Ware Branch on Chickamauga, and Kayak Bass Fishing TN on Old Hickory out of Rockland.

Congrats on the new ride.

Me and my daughter dropped by and talked to Ryan around lunch time Saturday.

Thanks guys.

TNtroller, I have a Humminbird 596hd di mounted on there. I get much less interference with it mounted on my kayak as opposed to my trolling motor on my other boat.

Travis, was that you in the Jackson hat by chance?
