Seen this on TWRA region II facebook page, I wish they would post this on all ramps

In Illinois, it is the law that you WEAR your PFD at all times when in a kayak or canoe.

I think that was/is a good law because one can tip over in a heartbeat and not have time to put one on.

In the case of a poor swimmer, it can be the difference between life and death.

Agree with all that is stated. Wear it. Life Jackets, and PFD's to be worn at all times during my events is the #1 rule. Breaking that rule results in immediate disqualification. I wear mine anytime I'm on the water, yeah I'm a good to above average swimmer, but I could hit my head, it by another boater, or have some unforeseen complication that may result in me being in the water. At least if something does happen to me they won't be wasting resources searching for my body for days.
