Default Caney Fork last week

Got out after work last week on the Caney. No fish caught, we fished the generation around Betty's Island. Ran into Creekwalker out there. I looked ahead and saw the perfect photo opportunity! That river is such a sight. No fish, but worth the trip to get this image!

Mike, I have the same pic made years ago ...except then it was called the Laycock Bridge at Betty's Island (all wooden except the steel suspension ) ... The new one is a very appreciated improvement !! ... My cabin wasn't far from there ... In fact I have saved pieces of the bridge as they were dismantling it ..

What started it's decline for safety was some kids built a bond fire in the middle of the bridge ... It was patched with a steel plate ... But this was a school bus route (you would not believe the 90 deg. turn up a bluff the bus would have to make )... Everything on this bridge was one way !! who was the biggest !! <'TK><

It looks peaceful! (and it is)......but a little ways down at the island split it can get a little hairy! I munched a log jam. Let's go again!

(and TK I'll be back looking for a prop soon)

Awesome pic, Mike! Hey it looks like I will be working night shift for a few days starting July 29th. So July 28th (a Monday) I need to stay up as late as possible to swing over so... Caney float? That's the day I'll be driving back from our Gulf Shores vacation so I should be plenty tired to sleep in the afternoon and stay up all night fishing. Matter of fact, that's exactly what I'll do if weather permits. Let me know.

cc: Travis C, MidTNKayakAngler, Porman2006, txnative, and any other yakers who might be interested.
