Smile Fishing the San Juan,New Mexico, and the Taylor,Co

Got to spend three days fishing the San Juan in NW New Mexico.I met with the NMWRA and they said it was okay to use T M products in quality waters. After 165 trout I was finished and headed for Colorado.
Fished the Taylor River in Taylor canyon which is about 35 miles NE of Gunnison. If you catch 3 or 4 you are doing good.First day I got 20 browns and 1 RB.
Then I got 20 more the next day.
Both of these places are catch and release and San Juan is barbless.
The fish here have a PHD in how not to be caught.
I am in Buena Vista,Co and looking to hit the Arkansas.
Very blessed to be here with my bride.

Sounds like an awesome trip. My biggest rainbow ever came on a tiny midge pattern from the San Juan River in New Mexico. Saw some other huge fish but only caught one. Fun place to fish.
