I was out fishing a bluegill bed today and a huge snapper rolled up on the edge of the beds then just sat still. For fifteen minutes or so he/she was motionless and all the bluegill seemed to know exactly where it hid as they avoided the turtle. Meanwhile, I had been catching bluegill after bluegill on the fly rod waiting for this turtle to grab one. Finally, it got the best of me. One gill while reeling it in I managed to "let"
it swim over in front of the turtle. Man that turtle slammed that poor gill. I was shocked at how quick it was and then realized it was now attached to my fly rod. The line broke easily but it was pretty awesome watching it unfold and feeling the power of those things.
Does that make me an accomplice to murder?
