That is exactly what I'm after. I hope to catch some skips for cat bait.

Well I went out to the Hendersonville side of the dam today for a few hours. We got a few bites but only landed one fish. We were trying for cats, I'm rather new at cat fishing but its fun learning.

Indeed, as it gets hotter I plan to do more fishing at night. I guess it would be a great idea to go ahead and get a carry permit. Its a damn shame you cant fish without worrying about shady lunatics. Ohh I imagine the Old Hickory side could be much worse at night.

Night fishermen, get yourself a 1-2 million candlepower rechargeable spotlight to carry with you when you are fishing the river at night.

It will blind anyone trying to approach you and give you time to take evasive action as they will be temporarily blinded by the light.

(It will also aid you in acquiring a good sight picture should the need arise.)

Better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6.

I like the way you think sir. I used to have a surefire weapon light for my 1911 that put out 180 lumens and that was bright. A spot light like that would put a hurting on someone.

Sarah and I went to the DuPont side the other evening to get a look at the water, we ended up sitting on the steps for a while to watch a barge lock though. There were several people (10-15) down there bank fishing, one guy open carrying. I've always seen people fishing down there, but didn't know it was that rough. We were both carrying, not because of the area, but because we do.

Good topic about the spotlight. I have a 230 Lumen LED flashlight that I carry with me when fishing at night.

The worst part is that it's actually illegal to carry on COE property. So the place where you really want to have it, you're not allowed to. Of course, most people do anyway for their safety and I don't blame them.

Because we all know how well "gun-free" zones deter crime.

I've seen many people openly carry below JPP and OHD. Never have seen anybody try to ticket them.
