Default Personal Best LM

I too fished in the kayak tournament this past weekend on Bledsoe. I was fortunate to land my personal best largemouth. After I set the hook I thought I was reeling in a log…then it moved to the left. When I continued to reel in I thought I caught a drum, but then she surfaced. I wanted to jump out and tackle her to ensure I get her in the kayak. As soon as she surfaced, she shot back down into some stick/bamboo type vegetation and didn’t budge. I just knew I was going to break off and lose her, but somehow she broke free and I landed her. My one regret is not getting a picture of myself with the fish, but no one was near to assist (I tell family this fish was too big to try and take a self-portrait). This was defiantly a fish I will never forget.

I don’t own any type of equipment to weigh the fish. Anyone give a guess as to how much she would have weighed?

That's a good estimation chart. Looks like upper 5 to lower 6 pound class for that fish. Congrats on that hog and winning big fish!

That one is a mule for sure! My guess is 5.7 pounds.

Nice bass; I too would guess around 6 pounds. Glad you didn't end up breaking off, that's a heartbreak when it happens with a fish like that.

That's a nice one. How did you end up in the tournament standings?

I ended up 11th. I missed quite a few fish that would have put me in the top five. I'm learning slowly how to catch them...but still have a lot to learn.

Nice fish.

I was there on sunday. Were you putting in at the public ramp? I had the blue mainstream and was talking to Jeremy before launch.

I was at the public ramp briefly Sunday morning. I had to paddle over to camp to pickup my identifier. I wish could have camped out. There were some very good fisherman in the tournament with a wealth of knowledge.

I believe you were still there when I unloaded because you launched next to me after I took mine off the explorer. This was the first one I fished so I really had no faces/names other than a small hand full of people.

Mr. King I believe that fish went 6. It was a tank and I'm very happy for you.

I have updated the full write-up post and extracted everything from the PDF and wrote it up, with day 1 and day 2 totals so you can see where everyone was for day 1 and finished on day 2. It was great having everyone there, it was very relaxed Friday night, and Saturday night it was more lively with a cornhole tournament, and sitting around the fire just having a good time "what it's all about".

We have such a great group here in Middle Tennessee and the guys from Kentucky fit in pretty well also.
