Default JPP - Easter Sunday

Took the yak out after Church and paddled to an area that probably wasn't even under the water last week. With the lake being taken to summer pool it was 1-4ft deep in areas and about 10ft deep at the mouth of the cove. When I arrived I could see fish all over the cove and within minutes I was catching fish. Caught several blue gill and then found crappie stacked around some brush. All were in the 10-12 inch range. All were caught on a black/chart cm on a road runner jig head. I then foul hooked what I believe to be a gar that pulled me around the cove before rolling over my line and breaking it about 10 ft from the yak.

While I was retying my line something started that I had not seen since I had left east Tennessee. The bass began jumping everywhere. I tied on a black/silver popper and began catching bass almost every other cast. Back home we called this "in the jumps" and tended to only happen near the dams or steam plants. I ended up catching 7 before I had to paddle back so the wife wouldn't kill me. Most were 15-17".

That sounds like a blast. I love jump fishing for bass.
