Default JPP unusual catch

I got to go for two hours today. The wind was brutal and cold. Water clarity was around 1 foot and funky colored, kinda like tea. I only caught one 11 inch crappie, but what really made it worth it was a 5 pound channel catfish. The cat came in 2 feet of water. A short cold trip but I go to try out the brand new mister twister fillet knife. I really liked it, a lot quicker than hand filleting.

Nice size catfish Isaac. I'll catch many catfish on small jigs during the summer months when I'm fishing for bluegills. There fun to catch on the light equipment.

I used to catch catfish while fishing topwater all night out at fort campbell (back in my younger days). I have caught them on jitterbugs, jittersticks, buzzbaits and 1 minus cranks. When it's really dark, they can fool you into thinking you've got a big bass!

alot of guys have told me about the cat catches on top water, especially when the cicada's are hatching every several years. That would be a blast!

Catfish catches are common on everything in the spring. We caught a total of 7 last week while crappie fishing on white twister tails. When fishing for bedding bluegill over the years we have always caught catfish. They will hit anything. My biggest one on Priest came at about 2:30 one morning while fishing for bass with a spinnerbait. It weighed 32 lbs. I had caught 3 smallmouth, pound or so each before the catfish hit, I thought at first I had a giant smallmouth.
