Default JPP crappie 4/5/14

I fished JPP today from 2:00-7:30. I had 17 keeper crappie and 8 big yellow bass. 17 is apparently my lucky number. I was fishing a 6 foot gravel flat with brush scattered around it. For the people I told about the spot, it was the same spot. The colors they would hit were pearl/chart. and an hour before dark black/chart.. What I would do was I would use a 2 inch grub as a search bait. I kept a rod rigged up with a crappie magnet on a 1/16 ounce double cross jig head and a float about 3 feet above it. When I would get one to hit it I would work the area thoroughly with the cm. I just love watching the float go under! I probably lost 20 jigs today due to scattered brush. It was still worth it though! I plan on going back out after church tommorow after I do some chores. I hope the mud won't move in and mess things up!
