Thought I would give a report even though i skunked. Fished my spot where the big crappie, whites and yellows were hanging out on saturday. The cold front pushed them out or turned them off. Fished 4 different wading spots, gave it 20 minutes at each spot, tried trout mags, crappie mags, and flukes. Not a bite. Will try again in a few days.

Go on Thursday. Sun tomorrow, sun again on Thursday with light winds out of the west. You'll hammer them.

I tried for an hour at Williamsport today. Nothing..... Thinking of fishing Normandy tomorrow. Looking at weather reports another cold front after a few days of good weather. Got to try though.

I got to walk to a spot to see if they moved in yet. I didn't get much fishing in because I was chasing my dog but they either weren't there or they were not biting.

I went out wading for about an hour, late this afternoon. My expectations were not high, but I thought I give it a try. Caught 1 yellow stripe, no other bites. Next couple days should improve.

It looks like friday may be the peak of it. I am going to try and go Sunday for a few hours which looks to be the day of the cold front so that could be fun..... I think I will get out Thursday, I should be able to get 2 hours of fishing in.

Well, between my grandfather and I we should be able to give you a good idea about friday. He is going out in the morning and I will be out from 5-7ish. I thought about taking my lights that i use for night fishing but I don't know if it's even worth trying this early in the year. My wife won't be home till around 9 so I could fish till 8:15 if I wanted to.

I went out this morning trying to eliminate unproductive water. That means Fall creek (shallow and cold, 46 degrees at 10 AM), Stewarts Creek also cold and shallow. The TVA has lowered the lake about 18 inches in the last ten days and the temperature has dropped back into the 40's. Found one bay today that hit 50 degrees on both my graphs.

Caught 10 keepers in the first bay I fished. Left them (like I said, I wasn't looking for numbers, I was looking for active fish and good water) and hit another bay, caught five but only two legals, moved to Fall Creek but didn't even fish it.

Then went to Stewarts and started all the way in the back. Trolled to the ramp at Stewarts Creek....caught one legal and two little yellows. Moved to the cove in front of Fate Sanders and caught a couple of legals and a 19 inch smallie.

Left those fish and went to Jones Mill ramp and fished the last hour. Only caught one legal, a big blacknose.

Got checked by the creel checker and had 17 legals and one white bass. He said I was doing better than most so, in spite of leaving active fish, I still managed to have a good day.

Had whitecaps on the way back to Fate.

All fish were caught on trolled jigs fished 4-6 ft deep. Black and chartreuse got outfished 3-1 by orange and chartreuse today.

Ok, I figured that but thought trolling a jig may be a little tough because they are so lightweight but at that speed it would be no problem. That is a good way to cover a lot of ground. How do you keep them at the depth you want?

i too went yesterday on the upper end. caught 8 crappies with only two keepers in water from 5 to 12 ft on black/chart, white, and purple. Also talked to the TWRA creel survey and he said they were doing better more uplake (must have been Merv ).. thanks to everyone who posts reports here. the water was much improved in clarity from the last time I was there. regards.
