3/15 JPP Crappie (Late Post)
Sorry for the late report. But Saturday afternoon, I saw online that Merv was catching crappie, Jimmy was getting on them, and several were reporting on here a good day. So I went to one of my crappie wading spots on JPP. I arrived around 4:30 pm. First cast was a yellow, second was a white and this went on for about a half hour. Caught a yellow or white every cast. Then the crappie started in, and boy was it fun! My buddy and I caught well over 30 crappie and all were between 12-13" except for a few that were between 10-11. We kept the first 11 we caught and released the rest. The stringer of 11 weighed 13 lbs. Very healthy thick fish. It was a blast! I was using the Purple Haze Trout Magnet with no float and no weight on 2lb test. My buddy was using a blue/white 1/8 oz crappie jig. I caught more crappie, but he caught more white bass. It was constant action until dark. All fish were caught in 3-6 feet of water. Cant wait to return.

So... why do I take my boat out if you can catch fish like this from the bank? SAMBOLIE send me those GPS coordinates when you get them so I can save gas and leave the boat at home. Very nice fish by the way.

Nice work Mike. Looks like several of us put some slabs in the freezer on Saturday! Gotta load up quick, Turkey season is coming!
