Last Thursday and Friday I went to KY lake, I had Woods and Water guide me on Thursday, was on my own Friday. It was my first time spider rigging, really enjoyed it, I'm planning on doing a lot more on OH. We had a windy day our first day and like you know the rod tips are bouncing up and down, what Jack told me is you are watching for the tip that doesn't come up like the others. I set the hook to no fish a bunch of times in the beginning but after about half an hour I was setting hooks on crappie, you get a feel for what is normal rod movement and what is a fish on. Friday the lake was calm and the bite was much easier to see, I only have 4 rods which is about all I can handle for now but the locals up there fish with 8 to 10 rods. I try to keep my rods spread out about 3 feet apart.
Are you fishing OH or JJP? Would be glad to go with you or have you come out with me, I dont have my boat rigged with double seats in front but am working on it. I'm set up with 4 in the front and 4 in the back.
Good luck,
Ray
