Saw my next kayak today

Got a really close look at the Big Rig today. Other than the cheap looking hatches I loved the thing.

I like it too. But at some point if these things keep getting bigger we might as well buy a boat....LOL. I would love to have one but would have to literally get a boat trailer for me. At 106 pounds no way I could even get it on my Malone kayak trailer.

I saw that at the fishing show. 37" inches wide. WOW ! Wonder if it would make it tough to paddle? Retail w/ rudder 1700.00

I'm with you I on the weight thing but I do have a cart and I think I can wrestle (may not be pretty doing so) it out of truck bed at the ramp.

There were so many positives about the kayak that the weight is secondary.

The specs show it is a heavy kayak. From what I've heard it paddles well, and I'm sure once on the water you wouldn't even notice the weight. Out of the water handling it should only equal about 5% of your time as kayaks are made for water.

If weight is an issue most kayaks can be dealt with only handling 50% at a time, so 53lb is about all you would need to handle at one time. I do understand and I would rather deal with 40lbs at a time myself, as 13lbs is a lot of weight.

I'd like to see it on the market for a while and see some hands on reviews, and see what other manufacturers fire back with.

With the amount of people in the sport, and them gross amounts of money that are dumped in the evolution will continue and there will never be a best kayak.

Make due with what you have or can afford and have fun, while getting some exercise.
