Default GSP Report 1/19

Temp low 30's, water about 47 and 57 @ the barrier. Wind was strong until I got into the channel then it was quite nice and calm. Fished from daylight till about 11:30. Some top water activity but nobody catching anything but an occasional bluegill or skipjack. Only about 4-5 boats and no other kayaks. Some fly fishermen got hot on skipjack for a while but that's about it for excitement. Maybe next time...
Still beats going to work!

Hey FLBasser, I met you today and didn't know it. I was one of the 3 guys in the Jon boat in the right side of the buoy. I told you it was our 1st time at the GSP. It was slow, we stayed till 3pm. I can scratch the Tilapia off the bucket list though! We caught Yellows, 1 LM, 2 striper, skips, gills all on TM's.

It really is a small world isn't it?
Other than a few baby stripers I'm still looking for my first real striper experience. Maybe next time we'll get the good ones.

I was out there today too. I was anchored most of the time striper fishing. Through the years I've Caught several pretty good size striper. Lost a huge striper today guessing 30 pounds. I did not see him but he stripped line for a while and I fought for a few minutes then came off I was using live skipjack. Did not break the line just spit it out. How can you go from being so excited too so sick in a short amount of time. LOL Oh well next time he is mine.

Woody, first off do not believe anything that comes out of Merv's mouth ... He is an habitual story teller ( Family oriented statement) he does not know Port from Starboard !!! ...

This Statement was paid for by Sambolie to bribe me so he will Pay $10 extra to MNFISHER Charity Tourney ...

Woody, actually this statement is true ... Don't know what Merv knows about GSP ... But JPP ... He is the king !! He is the Fish Magnet !! <'TK>< LOL !!
