Default Boat motor tell tail or peeing in cold weather

Do any of you carry a piece of weed eating string or some kind of syringe to spray water in the pee hole in cold weather. I guessing the small amount of water May slightly freeze then needs to be unthawed to Pee. I have Yamaha 115 four stroke and once in a while I have to do this in the cold. Any other better ideas?

I have the same motor and have to carry 50# line with me all the time even in the summer. Some kind of bug lays eggs in the tube and then plugs the hole with mud, happens all summer long. I usually don't have to do it in the winter, but 20's is as about as cold as I'll go these days.

Dirt dobbers will plug the hole in the spring / summer. Try putting a piece of tape over it if you park the boat for awhile.

Take a drill bit the size of you discharge hole ... and manually insert and rotate by hand ... This should take care of the problem ... <'TK><

For those having problems with bugs, daubers, etc clogging the tube while in storeage.
Insert a piece of string trimmer in the tube. If the string is small diameter just fold and insert both ends in the tube. Leave a few inches hanging out. If you forget to remove it the water will blow it out when cranked.

Dirt daubers in the pee hole might be the most painful thing ever talked about on this forum.
