Default Dale Hollow 12/28

Took the Moken 14 out on Dale Hollow Lake for smallies today. I fished the lower end, using the float-n-fly technique primarily, but I threw a Big Hammer and tailspinner a few times. I fished bluffs, points, flats, and grassbeds. I had a few takedowns on the f-n-f, and missed all but 1. I'm not complaining, though, it was a F A T 18" smallmouth. That fish came off of a point at the end if a long bluff. It hit a Crappie Magnet on a float-fly rig. Rod was an All Pro Floatin' Fly 9' model with a Shimano reel spooled with 8 lb Berkley Fireline and a 10 ft leader (Berkley Vanish Fluoro 6 lb).

This was my first time using the All Pro rod...I was very impressed with it. Handled the fish well and was great at the end of the fight when the smallie went ballistic after it saw the kayak.

I'll be out tomorrow (12/29) chasing fish closer to home.

Nice job Chris,
I have fished with the 9ft fnf from All Pro for at least 10 years maybe more. I love them. They are great for crappie fishing also when reaching those tight spots in fallen timber in the spring. So do not put the rod up in February when water warms!!!!! It can be used yr round.
