Default Snowin on the Caney

Hit the Caney at 7 this morning. Fished from the rocks below the Dam, with the TM and CM. Caught a mix of 20 brooks and bows with a few on rainbow colored cranks. 2 LM caught with the CM twitched with a split shot. Tough fishing with 10,400 cfs wind and snow, but the bite was good as long as it stayed cloudy. As soon as the sun came out they shut down on me. Merry Christmas everyone.

The bite has been a lot better this year than last for me, when I compare my notes from last year at this time. With you crankin the southern belle and Alpha twitching the TM, those trout don't stand a chance. Good luck! There was a boat drifting from the Dam to the pull offs today and there were doing well also.

At 10,600 cfs there won't be no throwing trout magnets. We will both be throwing big stick baits. I have always had good luck this time of year when they are running a lot of water.

I did get a couple on cranks. And one on the Storm lure I found at Happy Hollow Saturday. I found a small section of slack water where the TM was working. About the only area I could use with that much flow.

With them running the water this hard for the next few days the big browns should be feeding. The more water the better I like it. I think they have less time to look at your bait to determine if it is real or artificial. Also with the more water they seem to hit the bait harder. Hopefully weather will cooperate and my Riverhawk will run. I haven't run it in about 4 months.

MN I may have to take you with me since you don't mind the cold. Alpha is getting weak in his old age.

Roy.

That may work! Although my wife is singing at the Ryman Saturday night and her mother is in town, I may not be able to get away, but want to fish with you soon!

Thanks! She is there with several artists as part of the Grand Ol Opry show at the Ryman. The opry shows are held at the Ryman over the holidays due to the Rockettes at the Opry house.
