Default Williamsport Info Needed

I have been on all the websites about Williamsport Lakes and may go down there tomorrow for the first time to fish. Are certain lakes more likely to have certain kids of fish, or are they all a mixed bag? Can I use a trolling motor, and if so, which lakes allow that? Looks like they are having deer hunting going on so it may be my last time to fish unless I wear orange out in the boat...thanks for any advice...looking mainly for bass to catch and release...14 foot john boat.

They are having a hunt out there this weekend, and we're having a tournament. Should sound like the 4th of July out there. I'm not sure if anything is going on tomorrow.

All lakes allow trolling motors. The cost to fish or enter the area is $5 and can be paid at the concession if open, if not the drop box at the kiosk.

Goldeneye is dangerously low, and you could not lauuch a boat safely due to the soft mud.

Bluecat and Shellcracker are the only two waters that hold hybrids, Goldeneye only has bluegill and largemouth that I know of.

Shellcracker, and Bluecat also have blue cats, shellcracker, crappie, largemouth, and bluegill.

Whipporwill is a youth only and must be one adult per youth "max".

Bluecat and shellcracker's primary forage is shad.

I was fishing way up in Fall Creek area last weekend and heard a gunshot go off WAY too close to me for comfort. It came after I saw a dog, I assume the hunter's dog, barking up a tree at something very close to me. It startled me and I yelled very loudly toward that direction to let them know that I'm fishing here and didn't appreciate that. Never got an apology or anything, a few minutes later heard another shot so I paddled as quick as I could away from there.

Some hunters are careless idiots and you have to be very aware this time of year when fishing near land. After that incident I really hope nobody is hunting near the lakes we're fishing Saturday. I doubt wearing orange would have made a difference as I was fishing out of my lime green kayak, kind of hard to not see me.

Last season bow hunting I had bird shot land on me while I was sitting in my tree stand bow hunting. There were a couple guys squirrel hunting a little ways from me up on a ridge. After that I climbed down and made my way home.

I hope you don't take offense to this Jimmy, but if I was hunting along a lake and had a shot at a deer and there was a fisherman near, as long as the fisherman wasn't in danger, I wouldn't hesitate to shoot. He had every right to be hunting there as you did fishing there. I have actually had several careless fisherman ruin duck hunts for me by fishing extremely close to my spread, chasing all the birds away. It goes both ways.

Well I know you're responsible enough not to fire a shot towards a deer with a fishermen right behind it haha. I don't trust everyone else that much. You hear about these hunting accidents where people, who are a bit on the careless side, take a shot at something moving and it turns out to be a human. Or a bad shot completely misses the animal and hits a person.

Maybe I shouldn't have reacted that way but it was just my first instinct. Like I said, I hear of these sad stories about hunting accidents and assumed the worst.

As a hunter and fisherman I could comment on this conversation but it might be sarcastic. So no comment.
