Default Enjoyed the maiden voyage.

Took the kayak out for the first time today. It performed really well and the wind wasn't too much of an issue. Since I am new to this sport....everything is new with it except for casting the rod. I did manage to catch a few crappie and a bass on Killer Klatt CM's under a float as well as what I call swinging.

Pics are on my phone will post a little later.

Can't wait to fish some more in it and get used all the nuances.

Congratulations on sliming it. It's a whole different world being on the water in a paddle craft from manuvering, to getting from one place to another, to not being able to carry the kitchen sink with you.

Awesome travis, welcome to the plastic navy! We'll have to hit the water sometime. Maybe we can do a crappie outing before it gets too cold.

Thanks, I am definitely seeing the difference in the couple times in a kayak. I spent most of the morning "making" boxes of lures/plastics to carry in it from my bulk bins.

Gonna be fun.

Thanks, maybe we can. I am hoping to fish more out of this to get used to it than the other boats. Fixing to cough up couple hundred in batteries for my big boat that could have gone to tricking the kayak out.

Kind of bittersweet to see Ol' Blue in someone else's hands, but when I'm told how much fun it was, it eases the pain of selling my first kayak. Glad you enjoyed it, Travis...now get ready for some winter fishing...kayak-style

Thanks again man, I hope I can get at least half the quality of fish over the side that you've pulled up.

Mainstream Kingfish 12' sit-on-top. It's a first-generation fishing kayak (translation: old model, made when fishing from a kayak was not taken very seriously by most kayak manufacturers). It has a decent topside layout, though, and is lightweight (44 lbs) and really stable. I added a couple of forward-mounted rod holders to allow trolling, down lining, drifting baits, etc. There is also an anchor trolley on the left side. I took my depthfinder off before I sold it to Travis, but he has a replacement that just needs to be installed. I put a lot of fishing time on this boat and really enjoyed it, but I've upgraded boats and I know Travis was interested in kayak fishing, so I let this one go well under MSRP...no better way to get a new member of the plastic armada than by making their first kayak a good one at a low price.
