Default Cumberland River (Clarksville area) 11 Nov 2013

First of all; to any active duty military that read these forums - thanks so much for all you do. To my fellow veterans, thank you for your service to this great country of ours.

I wish every day was as nice as it was today! Today was more of an exploration vs. fishing; since the water is down so much, I wanted to check out the places I usually fish in the spring and summer when the water is high so I could get a good idea of what the structure (trees, rocks etc) looks like (plus I really wanted to enjoy this weather because according to the weatherman, things are about to get nasty for a few days).

I also ran up river to look for new fishing spots and I think I may have found one or two. I did spend some time throwing a Senko early on and caught some bass but none were pic-worthy. Then I spent a few hours throwing a crappie magnet, hoping for bluegill or crappie but all I caught was this spotted bass which was a fun fight on my ultralight with 2-pound test line. Hard to believe it may snow tomorrow after a day like today!

Yeah that is quite the ramp, length and elevation wise. Perfect place for me to have learned how to back up a trailer.
