Default OH 11-9 Langford cove area

OH 11-9

Well launched at Saunders then went up steam a short bit.
The wind kicked up and never stopped so I hit a bay that blocked most wind and found shad balling on a point around 8 feet so anchored and caught
6 nice crappie 11-13 ft. and one cat.

Not happy with the Tourney guys as when I left my cove they were extremely rude in the way they overtake you on the main lake even though it was
past 2:30 , I have a 200 black max and could have been a pecker head if I wanted but thought I would let them do their thing.

Damn, a 13 ft. crappie would make lots of filets.

Hit the same area today but shad have moved caught one more crappie.

Had a great time out on the channel caught a 25" rockfish and 2 minutes later caught a big fat bellied cat about 25 lbs.

You can see the jig I use, I was hoping for a Small mouth but will have to wait till next time.

Nice fish! I am seeing plenty of shad and feeding fish on the main channel also. Been that way for the last 3 weeks at least for me. It is great having the stripers back in the lower end of the lake.

I fish the general area of Shutes following the river channel up stream basically. As for Smallies not yet but I will keep trying .

As for the shad the cat I caught had a massive gut so they are there.

I have caught smallies a few miles down stream of OHD. Never had much luck on the lake side.
