Default Hunters Point and Station Camp Creek Boat Ramps closing for repairs

FYI:

HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. (Nov. 4, 2013) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Old Hickory Lake is closing Hunters Point Boat Ramp in Lebanon, Tenn. today and Station Camp Creek Boat Ramp in Gallatin, Tenn. beginning Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2013.
The closures for public access to the boat ramps are for the pouring and replacement of concrete slabs used on the boat ramp.
Facility Manager Greg Thomas said that the closure will be for approximately three weeks so that the concrete slabs can properly cure.
“Both ramps were on our list to repair this fall,” said Thomas. “We plan to have both boat ramps completed by Thanksgiving, weather permitting, so that our winter hunters will have easy and safe access on opening day.”
For any questions pertaining to the repair, please call the Old Hickory Lake Resource Manager’s Office at (615) 822-4846 or (615) 847-2395.

I saw that also. I had no idea Station Camp was in such need of repair. I would rather see Number One open back up so I could put the Kayak in there.

Update on the closings of Hunter's Point. It closed YESTERDAY, Tuesday!

I found out the hard way. I started to fish OH lake, wanting to put in at Saunder's Ferry park in Hendersonville. Got there and there were about fifty truck/trailers parked there, pre-fishing for the tournament I s'pose.

I didn't want to fight that so I decided on Hunter's Point in Lebanon. Drove over there and pulled into the ramp area to find yellow caution tape across the entrance. Went and looked at the ramp and talked to the guys forming up for the ramp concrete pour. They told me about 10 days before it opened back up.

Drove on down to Fate Sanders, launched, and headed for the stretch before the Stones confluence. Fished trees, brushpiles, ledges, rocky shorelines with jigs, minnow and bobber, jigs and minnows, and all I caught in four hours was one bluegill. Moved back to the Y camp, fished major brushpiles , again 12-17 feet deep and again, nothing.

Tough day.....but it was really nice out on the lake!
