Default Pickwick 10-29-2013

Had just short of two hours of mayhem at Pickwick with the white bass this morning. I arrived at 7:15 AM and just sat around on a bucket until 7:45 AM and then it was on.....catching a fish on almost every cast for the two hours. They were all up in the generator holes busting on shad.....quite a scene. Caught fish on a 1/4 ounce dressed Kastmaster spoon and a 3 inch Storm Suspending Jerk Bait. Was not fishing max water due to the odd schedule they have right now. Brought a limit home for the Senior Community Center. They will clean them and distribute to elderly needy folks. The fish shut off at 9:35 AM. They probably turned back on after I left but casting for one and a half hours without a hit I decided to call it a day. It's time to go find some crappie.

Regards

Nice Alpha. I went for a few hours this morning at Bryant's grove and didn't get a bite crappie fishing. I was fishing on the bluffs so imagine it was deep. Where and how deep do you find your crappie?

Isaac I do all of my crappie fishing at Pickwick or Nickajack. I am fishing in 23 to 30 feet of water but the crappie can be from 3 to 27 feet so I just try to find the depth they are for that day. I can't stress enough to try fishing the complete depth of the water column as they could be any depth.

Alpha, I am glad that you had a good day. We need more fishermen like you who share their catch with the less fortunate who do not have the opportunity to get to the water.

Thanks Ott....these folks clean the fish whole so there is no loss of meat really....which is good. I know how I love to eat fish and the old timers here in the south love their fish so it is the least I can do. My cooler is always returned looking brand new and not even having a fish smell.
