Default old hickory lake fishing report 10/7/2013

Well it was a little cool this morning but I went out anyway. I had a lite wind for a very short time then it turn to a chop which made it hard to run the bow mount. I started with the KVD topwater and had one hit then I tried the KVD 1.0 and caught a drum trolling then I hung on a log and when I gave it some slack it took off but I miss it. I know it was a catfish by the slime on my line. The water temp was 73.4 this morning and if the winds will stay down I may go back out tomorrow...............WOODY

The mornings of steam on the water. The fishing should be getting really good anytime.

This is my favorite time of year...the fishing may be better in spring, but weather-wise, fall just can't be beat.

I need to start fishing Old Hickory more. I've only fished it a few times but I saw several areas, especially near the steam plant, with tons of submerged stumps and whatnot. Areas that would make for some fantastic buzzbait and spinnerbait fishing when the water temps drop.
