Default old hickory lake fishing report 9/16/2013

Well today was almost a bust due to fog that lasted till about 9 am. I tried a trick someone told me about using cheap dry dog food for bait in a minnow trap and by wetting it and making a dough ball to put in the trap.Well it works and I caught about 12 nice shiners about 2" long to take with me this morning and didn't get to use them. So I will take them with me tomorrow morning and try again. When the fog finally lifted I was trolling and casting the #5 shad rap in black & silver and did get two LM bass about a lb each then it got hot and it was time to call it a day so till tomorrow ............woody

OK here is some pic's and you can also catch crawfish in the trap. I put the trap in a grassy spot along the shore line and just deep enough for the water to cover the trap and you don't want the water 1/2 & 1/2 or the snakes will go in it and eat your shiners. I have a line tied to the trap that is about 10' long with a float on the other end with my name and address on it and also so I can see where I put the trap .........woody
