i am going with my BIL and his work buddies.
We are going with Canoe The Caney. They are renting canoes, i am taking my fishing kayak.

What should i know? Fast, slow current?

It's not often that I catch bass in there. The only place that ever happens is right below the dam. Looks like generation from 9-11am with added sluice so be nowhere near the dam during this time. For the time with high water I'd be throwing jerkbaits in either a shad or trout pattern. On low water trout magnets will catch you more stocker sized trout than you can count. Either that or any type of small spinner with a shiny blade.

Shallow fast shoals is where you will find lots of stocker size fish. Deeper holes is where the bigger ones will be. That is lower water, during generation, the bigger ones will venture out of the holes to feed, but won't be far from them.

I went with a rather large group, and my BIL and i were the only people with fishing gear.

We did the 9 mile float in 3.5 hours, stopping at the caves and stopping to eat. I wasnt able to wet a line really. They generated from 9-11. We started our float at 11.

Nobody that i talked to was having much luck fishing.

It's about 7-8 river miles down from the dam.
