Default Percy Priest Report - 9/8 & 9/9

Buddy came down from Evansville to crappie fish Sun & Mon. Got a late start Sun, plus had to put up with boat traffic, but still ended up with 17 good keepers and in by supper. Got out at dawn on Mon and was in by 1 with 27 good sized keepers. Trolling cranks over brush from Long Hunter to Fate Sanders in 14-18 FOW. Crappie would bite even during mid day along edge of channel.

I know a lot of you guys like the Bandits but I use the Academy knockoffs, especially the CRULD (crank, ultralite, diver) series in anything shad colored. Crappie, bass, yellow bass, and even the big cats seem to love em. My buddy got nice 4 lb channel cat on one right around noon with the sun blazing.

Default Accademy Cranks

Jeff-sometime pick up the diamond dust model d from Academy-$3.00-very similar to the Bandit 300 Texas Shad-but it's got a red chin. We've been killing the crappie up here in East Tn on the TN river, Also, Natural shad-similar to the Bandit Natural shad at half the cost.

Thanks - that Diamond Dust is one of the colors I use. Also Ghost Shad and Bluegill seem to work well.

I also use these when the sun gets higher. These also have that ultralight size but run pretty deep. Our local Dick's carries them.

The h20 express model d works just as well as the bandits do.
