Default My recent two trips to the Caney

Went on 9/7 and today 9/10.
Caught 35 in a couple of hours using white and pink Mini T M's. Most of the fish were stockers but did manage to get a couple in that were around 14-15" All were caught just below steps at Buffalo Valley.
Today I started up near the dam and caught 20 using Bison T M because the movement of water was slow. Then went to the steps again and caught 21 more using the new "Gainer" ( orange and gold ) T M. Also 5 brim.
Out of the 41, 4 Brooks,1 Brown and 36 Rain Bows.
Mostly stockers at steps but at Dam they tended to be bigger.

Nice job Ed, when were you up there on Saturday?

I didn't notice your truck in the parking lot.

I was using the Mini on Saturday with 9' rod with Micro wave eyelets. But I have started fly fishing where I am using just Mini's.I did that on Little Red and had a blast using pink.
I went early Saturday and was out of there by 0900.That way i did not endure the kayak parade.

How well do the mini's stay on the fly rod while casting?

I have been meaning to try them. The black mini and olive mini seem like they should work well up there.

Thanks for posting Ed, I wanted to go and try to catch some stockers there when there is no generation.
