Default Weekend fun with the family!

My parents came to visit this weekend, and with them they towed my small 12' mirrocraft with a 6 hp motor on it.

Saturday morning we went to the woods and hung a few treestands and sighted in my new rifle. last 2 shots were within a inch and a half, 1" high at 200 yards. I am satisfied! Besides a great morning, getting everything successfully accomplished, we found ourselves covered with thousands of very tiny bugs.....we all are currently experiencing our first battle with seed ticks.....HORRIBLE!

Anyways, that didnt stop us, we towed the boat to OH Dam and arrived around 5:30 pm saturday night. We just fished until dark, we just bounced shad in the current, we missed several fish, and managed a decent channel cat, my mom caught the biggest skipjack I have ever seen and we caught a white too.

After church on Sunday, we headed to the pond at the Caney. We fished 3 hours and caught somewhere between 50-75 brooks and rainbows on trout mags. Nothing big, biggest rainbow was 13 1/2" and had a few brooks over 12" but still a blast! I am pumped to be able to fish a few different waters with my new boat now!

Glad you got your boat down. Sounds like a fun time at the Pond. Nice looking cat also.

Nice job with the family and I bet you are pumped about having a new ride to see some more water.

Your dad didn't look near as sunburned as I did there the day before.

Also forgot to tell you, I left our life jackets at home and had to rent some from Joel.. LOL...

Good for you getting your folks on some of these TN fish. We're they sluicing with the generators off? My son and I were gonna go Sunday, but we've been tearin the local creeks up.

Yep about the right size bait for a spring Striper Rogue's .. about the same size as a 18 inch bow ... Great Baits .... Not kidding folks ... If you want big fish you need big baits !! ...

Big baits is a different ball game when it comes to trolling boards ... educate and learn from your experience ... <'TK><

MN Fisher- I hope my boys remember these fishing trips and continue to love fishing and take me when I am your dads age. Brought a tear to my eye to see your posts. Thanks!
