old hickory lake fishing report 9/8/2013
Another fun day on the lake and it started at 5:30am with no winds and partly cloudy skies and the water temp was 84.0.Since there were no hunters in the blind I Started in the 24' hole in the mouth of the cove around the corner from lock 3 ramp.The fish were there and just starting to come to the surface for baitfish and the bigger ones were just off the bottom waiting for a meal to swim by. I tried top water with no luck then bottom bouncing and hung and lost it. So I picked up the shad rap and the fun started again.I started trolling with the bow mount no 3 speed in about eight foot of water working the drop offs edges and picking up a bass or two.Then casting at breaking fish and you don't know what your going to catch like maybe a flathead catfish when you think your hung up or black drum. I had gills hitting it and I had two other bass on and lost them at the boat that look like 14" up to 17" and that when it was hotter out around 11am. So as long as I don't have to see the doc I will be back out tomorrow for more fun.................woody
