Default Cat fishing Normandy Weds. Night 8-28

We went to Normandy Wednesday evening about 3 pm to do a little fishing. Looking for what ever we could find. Catfish were high on the priority list. We followed the recommendation from this forum. We were set up with every bait imaginable I think. We had 12 jug set up with various bait, chicken livers, cut bait, hog dogs, Commercial bait. We set the jugs out about 4 pm in an area I have caught several cats in the past. Then we went to fishing the shore line in 4 - 5 feet of water on the edge of a major drop off. We picked up 2 nice cat 3 - 5 lbs maybe. Good eaters. These were on chartreuse/orange trout magnets with crickets. 1 - 8" Bluegill on a chartreuse/orange TM with a cricket.. We got 1 small mouth bass, about 16" on a chartreuse spinner. About dark ( 8 pm ) we got one similar cat on a jug. We moved all the jugs back to the shoreline and re baited in various baits. At 9 we chased down all jugs and moved them back to the shore and re baited. At 11 pm we rounded up 11 of the 12 jugs. All jugs still had the bait on the hooks. Never did find the 12th. We ran the area 3 times. After dark we NEVER got a hit on anything.

We call "redeye" rockbass up in MN. First time I heard someone report they caught a bunch or Red Eye, I had no clue what they were talking about!

We always have a great time even if we don't catch much. We just thought we'd do better than we did.

Going to give it another try Sunday afternoon (9-1)
