Jeremy (MidTNKayakAngler) is trying to put some local events together. I'd definitely attend some if I have the time. There's also a kayak, canoe, or SUP tournament coming up at Williamsport Lakes in September.

Depending on a your schedule, we can meet up and fish sometime. I usually get out twice a week and fish priest, old hick, dale hollow, caney, etc, so we can target a number of different species in a variety of ways. Let me know what you are interested in doing.

As for a full-blown gathering, it isn't too hard to generate interest in a gathering as long as there is enough notice. What are you looking to do (fish, meet & greet, etc) ?

We get together quite often. There are so many of us that like to fish different waters, and for different species so you really have to ask "What's going on?". We have guys that regularly fish Tims, and Woods, guys that make bi-weekly trips to Guntersville, guys that fish Old Hickory, and Priest regularly, guys that fish Dale Hollow, and some guys just stick to the small creek and rivers.

A lot of us go when we get the chance and don't have much heads up due to work and families.

Like this weekend 6 of us have rented a cabin in NE Tennessee, and we're going to hang out and fish for the weekend.

I can see more of these happening, but they will be for a limited number of people. "Not hand chosen, just first come first serve.

jad2t, brought up a good thing. Tennessee Kayak Anglers, this is a group that hosts tournaments locally, they have a forum also.

Same here but I primarily fish Priest and the Caney Fork. Planning to hit the water at 4am Saturday morning to search for striped fish and "jumps" before sunup then bass fish along the banks until about 9am when they head deep and call it a day. If you're interested let me know.

Shellcracker and Bluecat both have Hybrids. I've caught them on Bluecat, but not on Shellcracker. I have seen them in the jumps on Shellcracker though.

We've had our best luck in the very early spring, and late fall. Water temps were in the low 60's. They gotta eat though, so I guess you could catch them at any time.

Baitfish being pushed out of the water by feeding fish. Usually the feeding fish are one of the striped varieties if not all three. It's quite exciting to watch and you can commonly find it during the summer just as the sun is coming up. I believe it happens sometimes as the sun goes down too but I've never seen it at night. Only in the mornings. That's the reason I get the yak on Priest at 4AM on Saturdays.

I have seen them at various times of the day. One of my most productive was about mid day on Joe Wheeler. Caught well over 100.
Last week they surfaced between 8 and 8:30 am at Shute Branch on OH.
