Stones River
Today I hit the Stones River in the Boro trying for bass for a few hours. The water level is down again but the water is still a little murky. I didn't catch any bass but had a nice surprise anyways. This nice 32" Freshwater Drum. I've never actually caught one, but I have seen them swimming around and assumed they were just bottom feeders. I never expected one to slam a crank bait! (KVD 1.0 Sexy Shad pattern). I took a pic and back he went. Anyways, a great fight on 8 lb. line and a good day!

That's one heckuva fish even if it isn't what you were targeting! And having a good time is what its all about anyway. I always get a kick when they slam skipjack or shad while I'm catfishin!

We've caught them on all kinds of crankbaits, swimbaits, live bait, nightcrawlers, etc. They are very opportunistic feeders and ALWAYS give up a very good fight.
But I have never caught one that big!Must have given you quite a tussle.

Merv, Was that recipe that you gave me at the outing for Drum or Carp? Can't remember.

Nice drum. I caught a big one not too long ago and it towed the boat around in circles.

You could photoshop the nose on that thing and call it a Tennessee black Bass.

My brother caught one on a spinnerbait. I caught one on a trout magnet.
