Default cold water at the Hick?!

Is my Humminbird broke or is the temp at Old Hickory in the low 70's? I read ppl posting temps of mid 80's and so on. Why is OH so cool? I know there is a lot of water passing through, but shouldn't all the lakes generating that much?
just wondering
James

Your depthfinder is fine. The main channel was in the mid-60's this past weekend. The fish are happy and biting with the cool temps. The cool water from Wolf Creek, Dale hollow, and Center Hill all contribute to this.

It will start warming fast and the discharge rates are slowing fast. 60,000 cfs this past weekend now down to the mid 30,000. It will keep slowing unless we get a bunch more rain.

Jim is right on !! Old Hickory is the coldest River Lake impoundment in the State ... And you ask why that is ??? Look what is feeding it my Friend ... Dale Hollow and Center Hill ... This is what makes it the most prolific Striper fishery in the Country .... <'TK><

And it is fun when the kids jump in to cool off. Ahhh, the look on their faces.
