I went today and since I do not have a depth finder, I could not tell the temp. The water was not muddy and could see about 2.5 feet down.

Heres a link I like to go to to check JPP water levels. What I also like about it, it also shows the historical water levels for the past four years. So I can get an idea of when they will typically begin the drawdown in the fall and raise the lake back to summer pool in the spring. I also find it interesting that in 2010, 2011, and 2013, we experienced flooding at almost the exact same time, end of April to beginning of May. Also, in 2012, they did not raise the lake to summer pool until mid-July.

This was due to no spring rains. They didn't generate or spill water almost all spring and the lake didn't come up due to no water coming in! It was crazy! Definitely a different year than this year!

Trans,
Think I will go to Tims in the morning to troll. I fished there on July 4th and caught hybrids, rockfish, smallmouth, and the largest walleye I have ever caught in that lake. All fish were caught using the same chartreuse Sassy Shads. At that time the fish were not schooled up very well. I did find a couple of coves that had "floaters" so the fish had probably been in those coves in the morning and someone was throwing them back after catching.
The fish should be between the mouth of Lost creek and the dam. I am going to be out of town for a couple of weeks, but when I return the Great Lakes trolling setup goes on the boat (planer boards that connect to lines from a mast in the front of the boat with eight lines on releases). That setup will wear you out if you are fishing alone!

You know, I totally forgot about how dry it was last spring. Thanks for the reminder!

Boat is set up, I am heading for Tims in the morning. Will be on the water at daybreak! I have room in the boat if someone wants to meet me at the lake.
