Thumbs up old hickory lake fishing report

I went out this morning early around 5am and went to the same cove as the last time. I started off with the KVD top water and boated one bass then it got foggy for a little while so I change over to the 6" black lizard and boated two more bass. One of the two was about 6lbs and I lost five at the boat and I let all of the bass go for someone else to catch.............woody

Nice fish woody!

You sure have a good spot there. Do you have an idea why it is holding fish so consistently? I would like to look for an area like it up in my part of old hickory.

Jim

PS - I haven't had a chance to try out the lures you gave me at the gathering, but as soon as the white bass get in the jumps I am going to wear out the medium sized jigs. Thanks again!

Good fish Woody. For the people who haven't met Woody, he is not an averaged sized man. You're staying consistant, and I was just looking at a pack of black Zoom lizards in the bottom of my plastics bag thinking I need to throw these.

Good catch Woody. I boated some hogs last night on OH with the KVDSexyDawg. Do you constantly walk the dog? Or pause and retrieve?

If you want to catch some jumpers try a small kastmaster in all silver under a float about 18" to 24" and with a pop and pull retrieve early in the morning before it gets hot. I was catching one every two minutes and having a real good time...............woody

I never thought about that technique. I have jigged spoons vertically below dams before for trout. I'll give it a shot, what lb. test are you using?
